We never cease to be humbled and amazed by how incredibly talented our clients and session players are. A whole cadre of players from area rock bands and the Indianapolis Symphony developed into session players at TRC in Indy. Here in Nashville. the players are already developed, plus we’ve learned from Belmont students, recent grads and their friends while helping them launch their careers. The slider below highlights some recent artists; more music is on the Streams page. Next is a partial list of clients from the past 45 years. At the bottom of the page is a photo gallery.
Mitchell and Matt
Mitchell Kilpatrick (left), a great performer in his own right, has recently turned his attention to producing, and we like the results. He brought 2019 The Voice finalist Matt New over from Texas to do the vocals on this 2020 single, the best male pop tune out of TRC that year, “Couple of Fools”.
Sydney St. George
Sydney’s been working with us here in the studio since it opened in 2016, and liked us so much she married our engineer Jake. Together, along with other Nashville collaborators, they’re created some cool music for themselves and for others. This is Sydney’s first single release. Co-producer was Mike Robinson.
Faith Band
Jake found a sealed original vinyl LP of “Rock’n’Romance”, which Faith Band recorded with us in Indy in 1978. The 24-track has disappeared from Mercury Records, but we pulled the original mix of “Dancin’ Shoes” off the vinyl, and it still sounds great. Carl Storie wrote the song, and sings it here, but somebody else took it to number one. The album cover shows not only Carl (top center), but also Nashville songwriting coach Mark Cawley and Johnny Cascella (bottom left).
Axas
In the fall of 2018, Alex Parkevich sent us the 16-track master from a four-song demo we did in the 70s for his band Axas . He also had 2-track masters from two more songs recorded at TRC. We restored the tapes, decoded the Dolby, and remixed and remastered the tunes. Turned out so well that they got the group a contract for a two-album vinyl release in 2024.
Roadmaster
Not because they recorded the LP “Sweet Music” with us in Indy in 1978, but because Tom Griswold has unearthed a 24-track master of a live performance from a few years later. We restored the master, then copied the tracks from the Studer into Pro Tools. Here – with hats off to Michael Read, Toby Myers and Tom Griswold – is a never-before-heard 2016 TRC remix of “Say You Want To Be With Me”, performed live by Roadmaster
Friends
TRC is now a private studio. Some of our clients really value their privacy, and we don’t talk about them. Others want their names withheld until a record is released or a demo is sold. But here are some of our clients and artists are okay with being on this “Friends” list.
